Stay alert

www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Stay alert ***

Being greedy may make you lose your mind. Don’t look for irrational pleasure just for a moment of excitement.  Be careful and don’t get carried away to the degree that it becomes an issue. Therefore, always be alert and make sure you don’t enter the wrong side of the road; otherwise you end up driving in the dark and will never see the light.

It’s best to keep a low profile ***

Whether you are in power or not, it is best to keep a low profile. Being too outstanding may make people jealous and cause unnecessary trouble for yourself. Instead, pay attention to the people around you and you may find someone who is worthy, with whom you can develop a personal relationship to help your career development.

Live a life of no regrets

Daily Advice

goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Live a life of no regrets ***

What does your white hair tell you? It shows that people cannot keep their youth forever. While you are young and strong, make sure you have a personal goal. Set a target to work towards achieving your goal. If you do that, you are doing something good for yourself and you should have a life of no regrets.

Enjoy nature ***

Who says life is boring? Try to find a sunny morning. Get together with your friends and go hiking. Listen to the birds singing their songs of no sorrow and flying freely in the sky. Enjoy the wind blowing the leaves and listen to the sound of swinging branches. How can you be bored anymore?

A pleasure

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

A pleasure ***

Being busy maybe a good thing but one should not totally exhaust one’s self. No matter how busy you are, you should still take a break. The most important thing in life is your health. If you want to eat something not so healthy but it makes you happy, go ahead and eat some. After all, if you don’t over-indulge, having a nice meal can be a kind of pleasure.

You cannot carry fame with you ***

Even if you have gained fame and fortune, but you don’t have good health, what you gained cannot make up for what you have lost. Remember you cannot carry fame with you when you leave this world. It is totally not worth it if your health is compromised because of your extra efforts to pursuit fame.

The dedication

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

The dedication ***

If you don’t devote yourself with full focus to your job, it is very unlikely that you can be successful. Even if you have some achievements, those results will not be outstanding. But if you commit your full dedication, and demonstrate your love and respect for your job, you only need half the effort to complete your job with flying colors. You will then deserve to have a bright future.

Working hard ***

Don’t be lazy. Good days may not last forever and the environment around you can change. Unfortunately these changes come quickly and unexpectedly. If you don’t work hard now, you may not be able to get a good job when you grow old. Take advantage of the current situation and work hard to keep the job. Save as much as you can for the retirement days.

Your mood is controlled by you ***

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Your mood is controlled by you ***

When you are open-minded, everything will turn out as you wish. When you are in a depressed mood, nothing turns out to be right. Remember your mood is controlled by you. Try to appreciate this. Even if the sky falls down, you just treat it as a blanket. Things will find their way out like when a ship docks, it will always end up straight. Time will heal everything and all troubles will be gone.

Attitude ***

How life looks to you depends on your attitude. When you are in a good mood, you will always wear a smiling face. Everything will turn out well, and even your appetite will be good too. But when you are in a bad mood, you will wear a sad face. You will bump into unpleasant events. Remember that no one controls your own mood. If you think of the bright side of everything, you will slough off your worries and you will have your own luck.

Daily Advice October 23, 2012 重陽節 Chung Yeung Festival

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Chung Yeung Festival ***

During Chung Yeung Festival, it is natural to think of your loved ones, who are no longer here, and cry. You shouldn’t feel embarrassed if people see you cry. As long as you love your deceased family members, your tears are a reflection of how much you miss them. Don’t worry how people look at you. It is natural to shed tears and think of the good old days with your loved ones.

Missing your loved ones

While visiting graves during Chung Yeung Festival, people burn a stick of incense to pay respect to their ancestors. A measure of how grateful people are lies in the fact that, they will never forget how their parents took care of them and they will never be able to pay back enough for their parents’ love. What they can wish for is to repay such love in their next lives. All love relationships will end someday. Again, burning a stick of incense can be a way to express your true love. At this time what you can do is to wish that you can continue your loving relationship in your next lives.

Oversupply of labor

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Oversupply of labor ***

If you want your boss to notice your talent in this world of oversupply of labor, you need to evaluate your own behavior. Ask yourself whether you take initiative to carry out your duty, whether you deliver your commitment on time and how well you perform your own job.

Don’t go to the extreme ***

Even if you are a talented person, don’t be arrogant, otherwise you won’t win the respect of others. Even when you are right, don’t claim 100% of the credit; otherwise people may not agree with you 100% of the time. When you have power, don’t use it to the extreme; otherwise you only gain lip service. When you are wealthy, don’t spend extravagantly. If you can do that, you will be able to enjoy your wealth for a long time.

Ask for embarrassment

Daily Advice

Author: Philip Chan
goodadvicechan@yahoo.com
www.good-advice-book.blogspot.com

Ask for embarrassment ***

Don’t look down at others because you are a little bit more knowledgeable. Don’t be arrogant and speak loudly as if you know everything. Possibly, you may know very little especially when you don’t have a long term view. No one will respect you when you behave like this. In fact, what you are doing is looking to be embarrassed.

Don’t be blinded by greed ***

It is often said the Praying Mantis always stalks the Cicada. Yet the Mantis forgets there is Oriole watching him from behind. Similarly people are obsessed by chasing wealth and forget that there maybe disaster looming. It is like the Mantis catching the Cicada but ultimately being eaten by the Oriole. We should remind ourselves that we should focus not only on pursuing wealth, but also not to forget about any harm that such action may bring.

Lucky man ***

Don’t blame misfortune as the cause of your failures. If you do that, you are in fact fooling yourself. Don’t forget that “failure is the mother of success.” Life is like a blooming flower: it blooms and it withers. It is inevitable that life has success, failures, joy and pain. Don’t be depressed when faced with bad times. Your luck will turn around.

Failures ***

Don’t despair even if you fail. Learn from such an experience. Don’t focus too much on the end result and don’t worry how people may look at you. What is more important is how much effort you have put in. If you have tried your best, you are fair to your own self. You become smarter because you have gained a valuable experience.

Therefore people should be humble and modest. Don’t always ask for the best of everything for yourself. Always leave some room for others. The best is to keep everything in moderation.

Why don’t you accept life as is? Maintain your tranquility, accept your destiny and move forward. Then, your life will be a little bit more relaxing.

Be practical ***

We all need to be practical. Although your dress matches your status, it may not really convey anything meaningful. What is worth more is not what you wear; it is your personal character. Your character is your personal wealth. Whatever you do, be practical and look for the truth. When you deal with people, deal with them by utilizing practical knowledge.

Be honest and don’t deceive people ***

If you are honest and don’t deceive people, you will be able to build good interpersonal relationships. People will accept your weaknesses if you are honest. Since you are honest with people, people will generally, in return, be honest to you. You are, in fact, a gentleman if you are an honest person.
