Use your brain to win***

In a work-place, use your brain to fight for what you want. If your opponent is in a good shape, this is not the right time to fight. If you barge ahead, even if you win, it is going to be a victory with no significance. You really can’t win the big battle. Perhaps you should consider avoiding the battle temporarily and try to stay alive.

Have a good spirit to get along well with people***

Any individual’s capability is limited. Therefore you need to hire good people. Make good use of their talents. Most important of all, you have to demonstrate you are not selfish. Develop the spirit to get along well with people. Remember whatever you don’t like, don’t impose it onto others. If you can do that, you will get the support and win the hearts of others.

Today you win; tomorrow you may lose***

When you see a beautiful flower, you want to keep it. You pick the flower and put it in a case at home. You won’t let the flower blossom next year. Although you have the flower temporarily, ultimately the flower will wither. At that point, you will lose the flower.

Conscience***

What thing in life is silent without any complaints, will never vanish, and will not take any rest? The answer is your conscience. It follows you and controls your action and speech. As long as you perform your job, abiding by your conscience, and getting along with people while relying on a fair conscience, you are in fact a good man.

To donate***

To donate is a charitable activity. However, a donation, without a sincere and compassionate intent, may injure the receiver’s self-respect and cause embarrassment. Although the receiver may not refuse the donation, in reality he/she accepts the donation reluctantly. Only donations with a sincere intent will yield a satisfactory and happy result.

Solve a problem correctly***

If you want to solve a problem correctly, first get rid of your biases. Analyze your problem by finding out how it happened and what caused it. Understand the whole story and its ins and outs. Determine what is right, what is wrong and what the truth is. Only then, will you be able to solve the problem correctly.

Ninety percent sure***

When confronting an opponent, you must first try to understand what your opposite party is up to. What is their primary goal? Don’t take action and act rashly. Even if it means you have to pretend that you don’t understand and not capable of fighting. Just wait until you have a strategy and are 90 percent sure that you will win. Then, take appropriate action to attack.

Mencius and Xunzi***

Mencius’ philosophy is that men are born with a merciful heart but Xunzi’s philosophy is that men are born with a wicked heart. It really doesn’t matter who is right or who is wrong. As long as our goal is to train ourselves to be a good person who won’t do anything injurious to others but only performs good deeds to help others. If we do that, both Mencius and Xunzi should be OK with that. Since we have either turned our wicked nature into a good one or we have kept up our good nature to contribute something good to our society, we should feel good for ourselves too.

Offer constructive criticisms tactfully***

Saying good things will always help people. When people say good things, it shows in their face. In pointing out other people’s mistakes, they always use tact and never use any harsh words to criticize people. In this way, your opposite party will accept your advice gladly and correct their mistakes.

Confession***

Some people think that they are inferior to others once they have made a mistake in their life. If you subscribe to this kind of thinking, it is wrong. As long as you admit your mistake and are willing to own up to it, you don’t have to live a life dominated by regret. Once you assume responsibility for your action and are willing to correct your mistakes, you can start anew.

Take full responsibility for your mistakes***

Once you are willing to recognize your mistakes and take responsibility to correct them, you are indeed a good person. Go ahead and repair the damage caused by your mistake. Abandon any individual prejudice and make your best effort to correct the mistake. Compensate to the people whom you have hurt. Make sure you will not commit the same mistakes again.

Survivors***

Human relationships are complicated. No one can foresee what will happen tomorrow. Today two people are close colleagues but tomorrow one of them can be the boss. Today two people are friends but tomorrow they can be enemies. The best survival policy in a workplace is to be flexible and follow the flow. If you can’t do that, you will soon be out of the picture. If you want to be one of the survivors, be flexible and follow the flow.

Successful shortcut***

There is a common saying that you are not the “Only One.” There is always another mountain and there is always another person. If you pretend to be a big boss, it isn’t a smart move. What you really should do is to get close to a successful person and be humble enough to learn something from him. Apply what you have learned. This behavior can be a shortcut to reach the finishing line of your successful career.

Professional ethics***

What are professional ethics? The simple answer is to love and respect your job. Be a responsible person and always put in your best effort in whatever you do. Moreover, be focused on and wholly-absorbed in your work. In addition, maintain a habit of perseverance, without which, you won’t be able to complete the job.

Train yourself to have good personal traits***

If you want to build a successful career, first train yourself to have good personal character. Your thinking and your action must be legal. Always improve your knowledge and don’t believe in anything that is illegal. Don’t give in to unreasonable external pressure. Have confidence in yourself and you will make it.

Understand your own limitations and act accordingly***

Try to know your own limitations and act accordingly. It is a good thing if you can get a promotion and make more money. But you have to know your own limit and capability. Having talent is good too, but you have to be patient and wait for the right time and right opportunity before you can demonstrate your potential. Remind yourself that success or failure is not important. What is more important is how you struggle throughout this process. As long as you have put in your best effort, enjoy the process instead of the end result.

Manner and justice***

People should have good manners and believe in justice. They should not compromise justice for the sake of “profits.” They should put others before themselves.

Accomplish nothing***

Always defer to your seniors. Always comply with wishes of your seniors. Never neglect any orders from your seniors. If you are negligent, this type of work ethics and this type of action and speech won’t win any respect from anyone. On the contrary you may become the target of people around you. Instead of having a good career, you will end up accomplishing nothing.

Set a good example***

With these virtues, you have no fears that no one will accept you as a leader.

Be circumspect in how you express yourself ***

Always pay attention to how you say things. A careless word may destroy a good relationship. Speech is an art of communication. Using words of appreciation will promote friendship and people will like to be with you. Words that praise someone can encourage people to develop a better relationship with you.

Don’t talk nonsense***

It is always good not to talk nonsense. Don’t say irresponsible things. Don’t show off your so called cleverness in trivial matters. Don’t waste valuable time on boring small talk. Who controls everything?

It isn’t fate that controls everything. It is you, as a person, that controls your own destiny. Therefore, you must learn to enlarge on your wisdom. You can study books to improve your skills and the effectiveness of your performance. In addition, you must work on developing a good personality.

How to deal with your pain***

What is the best way to deal with your pain? The psychological response is a very important factor. How painful and how bitter you feel depends on your attitude.

Let the past be in the past and don’t use it to torture yourself. You must let go of the painful experience but you can choose to remember your past happy events.

Develop your wisdom***

Technology is progressing so fast and if you don’t try to keep up with it, you will have difficulties in surviving in today’s society. Yet you don’t have to be overly worried. As long as you are willing to devote time to learn something new everyday, you will improve your knowledge and have the wisdom to cope with all necessary daily activities. One wave pushes another wave. It’s similar to new people replacing old people. In today’s changing environment, people really have no choice but to learn. Stay put to cope with a changing situation***

The society is changing everyday and you must go with the flow. Always be alert to things around you. Sometimes you may have to stay put to cope with the changing environment. Study the environment clearly and analyze everything in detail. If you are better prepared, you will be able to handle the situation with greater ease.

How much do you love yourself

Do you really love yourself? Most people will definitely say yes. However, ask yourself whether you are a smoker or you go to bed late and get drunk frequently. If you do, it means you may, in fact, not love yourself. Do you eat healthy food and exercise daily? If you know your answers, you will know how much you love yourself.

Discontent with life***

Some people are not satisfied with their own lives. Whatever they look at it, all they see are their flaws. Whomever they deal with, they always argue with them as if the world owes them everything. They always wear a face of sadness and discontent. What’s the purpose of living like this? Why don’t they change their attitude and try to live a happy life?
