Lying on ice. ***

The story of lying on ice is about a child who lay half naked on the ice. He used his body warmth to melt the ice in order to catch fish to feed his mother.

哭竹生笋.  ***

為尋笋醫治母親

扶竹哭泣感天地

地上長出些嫩笋

助孝子醫好母親

Cry for bamboo shoots. ***

A child is looking for bamboo shoots to heal his mother. Thinking that this isn’t the right season, the child cried. He cried a great deal for days. Ultimately his tears moved heaven’s angels to make the bamboo shoots grow from the ground for him to harvest and use as medicines to heal his mother.
