Competition***
When two people are competing with each other during a critical period in a workplace, one of them will get burnt. Under this situation, it may not be a good move to add fire. It is advisable to make one step backward or even pretend to be ignorant, you may be able to save your job and then, wait for your next opportunity.
What to do at critical times***
One of the best approaches, during a critical moment in a workplace, is to be flexible about your plan and don't let others know what you intend to do. The worst is to insist on what you want. Even if your opponent has some interest, they will change their mind and reject your plan, if you are rigid and inflexible in your requirements.
