Strain your silver bullets ***

If you want to move up the career ladder, you must be prepared to have strategies that can cope with unpredictable changes in your work place.  Changes happen in a work place everyday.   Any such change can force people to change.  Those changes can be complex and you must have ways to deal with them efficiently, if you want to lead or to move up the ladder.

Grasp opportunity to move upwards ***

It is very common to see competition in a workplace.  Sometimes, you have to take advantage of the competition to move up the ladder.  While you have support from above, no one dares to stop you from moving upwards.  Don’t move in circles but position yourself to move up the ladder.

Qualification of your opponent

Qualification of your opponent ***

No one can fully predict what will happen in the world.  Nor can anyone predict people’s behavior correctly.  Sometimes when you face an opponent in a chess game, who has the same qualification and wisdom as yours, you feel that continuing to compete with him is useless.  It will be very hard to predict who can win.  Under this condition, the best way is to accept a draw and arrange a new competition date.

Breakthrough ***

If you want to make a breakthrough, take action before your opponent has a chance to make his first move.  If you think your opponent has changed his/her strategy, you also should be prepared to adjust yours.  Use strategies that are beyond your opponent’s imagination.   This makes it impossible for your opponent to deal with you.  Under this new strategy, you will be able to defeat your opponent.

Daily Advice April 11, 2013 得與失 Gains and losses

Gains and losses ***

Always worrying about gains and losses will eventually make you look worn and haggard.  It will turn your cheerful face to a face of deep worry.  Why do this?  Is this worth it?  If something is destined to be yours, it will automatically come your way.  By contrast, if you are not destined to have it, no matter how much you worry about it, you will end up being empty without it.

Glorious days ***

You don’t have to be arrogant even though you live in your glorious days of being rich and famous.   You should still treat your friends with consideration. Don’t be obsessed with sex and wine.  No one knows what may happen tomorrow.  It is like the weather.  A sunny day can turn into a rainy day.  Your glorious days can be gone in a minute.  But then, who is going to pity you?  You will end up being lonely and miserable.
