是端午節的习俗

Eat rice dumplings.  ***

Everyone welcomes the Dragon Boat Festival. This is the time of the year to prepare and cook rice dumplings. It is a customs to get the whole family together to eat those dumplings. 

百姓撒粽子.   ***

屈原為國而投江

百姓撒粽子江中

好让鱼虾吃米饭

不吃屈原的尸体

Cast rice dumplings into the river***

 Qu Yuan jumped into the river to kill himself as a patriot to send a message to his country that it would  be defeated if they didn’t go anything to  protect the country. People threw dumplings to feed the fish and the shrimps so that they would not eat the body of Qu Yuan.

The Dragon Boat Festival (passed from generation to generation) is in memory of Qu Yuan who saw their own country would soon be defeated but he couldn't save it. Therefore he jumped into a river and committed suicide.
